Difflam lozenges work to reduce the effects of a sore throat, thanks to the active ingredient benzydamine hydrochloride. Benzydamine helps to reduce inflammation and pain in the throat. Use these lozenges to treat mouth and throat irritation and inflammation.

A sore throat may be caused by a virus, such as a cold or the flu. It can also be caused by smoking, and in rarer cases by bacteria in the throat. You will know if you have a sore throat if you experience the following symptoms:

• Throat pain, especially when swallowing
• A dry throat
• Redness in the mouth
• Bad breath (halitosis)
• Mild coughing
• Swollen neck glands

When children are suffering from a sore throat, they may also have a fever and appear less active than usual.

Suitable for

Difflam lozenges are suitable for adults and children aged 6 and over.

Difflam lozenges should not be used by anyone who is

• allergic to the ingredients that are contained in the lozenges, or if you are allergic to any other NSAIDs.
• If you suffer from a condition known as phenylketonuria, then do not use these lozenges.
• You should speak to a doctor or pharmacist before using if any of the following are applicable to you:
• Have a history of asthma
• Have an intolerance to some sugars
• Difflam lozenges are not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. It is recommended that anyone who is pregnant or breastfeeding consults a medical professional for advice before using any treatment.
  

Directions

Take a single lozenge up to 3 times a day.

Do not exceed 3 lozenges a day.

If the symptoms do not improve after using these lozenges, speak to your doctor.
